Distinguished Club Program (DCP)
The Distinguished Club Program consists of a set of 10 goals outlined by Toastmasters International. These goals are used by Toastmasters
International to gauge the strength of a club. The more goals that a club is able to achieve, the
stronger the club is.
What are the 10 goals?
Below are the 10 goals that make up the Distinguished Club Program. Note that for your club to be eligible
for the recognitions available from International, you must end the year with at least 20 members OR
be +5 members on the year. The 10 goals below focus on helping members achieve their objectives for both the
Communication and Leadership tracts. In addition, the club benefits from gaining
new members and staying up-to-date on administrative responsibilities.
- Achieve 2 Competent Toastmaster (CTM) awards

- Achieve 1 more Advanced Toastmaster Award (ATM-Bronze, ATM-Silver, or ATM-Gold)

What are the recognitions that my club can earn?
There are 3 different levels of recognition that your club can earn through the Distinguished Club Program:
- Distinguished Club -- Clubs that have achieved 5 of the 10 goals and meet the membership requirements
- Select Distinguished Club -- Clubs that have achieved 7 of the 10 goals and meet the membership requirements
- President's Distinguished Club -- Clubs that have achieved 9 of the 10
goals and meet the membership requirements
If at the end of the year your club is recognized at one of these levels, your club will receive
a ribbon from International that you can attach to your club's banner. The ribbon will be mailed to the person who
was club President during that year.
Commonly asked question: Does my club receive any special recognition for achieving all 10 goals?
Answer: No. While clubs are encouraged to complete all 10 goals, the highest level of recognition
given by International is for achieving 9 of the 10. If your club is able to achieve all 10, you should feel very
confident in your club, as that signifies that your club is doing everything that it needs to be doing to service
its members and the members of your community.

International's DCP resources for clubs
After you sent in your Club Officer list that included the officers taking office on July 1,
International sent to your outgoing President a package of materials intended for the incoming President.
The main purpose for sending this package was to ensure that your new club officers had their officer manuals,
but there was also a booklet describing the Distinguished Club Program. This booklet includes suggestions on how
to plan your year, a description of the goals, and a checklist for helping you keep track of your club's progress
throughout the year. If you are an incoming President and you did not receive this package, please get in touch
with your outgoing President to make sure you do get it.
Another option is to download the DCP booklet from the International website in PDF format. You can
download it by clicking

Is my club Distinguished?
International has a form where you can enter in your club number and you will receive
a personalized DCP report for your club. This form is accessible by clicking
here.
Periodically throughout the year, your club President will also receive a personalized DCP status
report from International in the mail. Encourage your club President to share this information with your club
officers and members so everyone can know how the club is doing.
